Many clients ask us how do we start?

We start with a vision in mind and before we start creating any imagery, we need a plan for how the artwork will be displayed in your home. Creating a plan and shooting for that plan results in a session that will create memorable portraits.

  • Let's discuss your goals and how we will achieve it!

  • Bring all of your questions to our pre-consultation meeting in person or via phone.

  • We will coordinate outfits with locations whether it's in the studio or outdoors

  • The ordering appointment is where all the fun is!  Your portraits are revealed and we you can make your final decisions on what images look best with a wall gallery or album

How far in advance should I book for a session?

I recommend two to four weeks in advance! This will give me and you enough time to discuss locations, outfits, and whatever questions you may have! In my experience, the people I photograph mainly love having this amount of time to put together their outfits. And since they had more time, it took the stress out of rushing, which led to better photographs and a fun time!

                                                                           BOOKING:

For all sessions, a $100 non-fundable session retainer is required to book and hold the date for your session and serves as a cancellation fee. However, the fee can be credited towards a future session. The remaining balance is due before the session date.

When can I expect my images?

My typical turn around time for portrait sessions is one to two weeks but can vary depending on the time of the year. You will receive 5-7 preview images within a week of your session.

What happens if there is bad weather on the day of our session?

I only shoot at a certain time of day to ensure you with the most flattering light for your session. If the weather is less than ideal, and depending on how bad the weather is, I will let you know either the day before or a few hours before our session if we need to reschedule. Or if you just do not feel comfortable shooting in a certain type of weather - we can always change the session date for that too! My goal is for your shoot to be as convenient and enjoyable as possible. There are no extra charges for rescheduling.

What if I need to reschedule our session?

I completely understand that sometimes, life happens! So no worries if you need to reschedule. Whatever day works best for you, we will aim for that.

                                                        CANCELLATION POLICY:

Any client who does not cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of the session will forfeit the $100 retainer and it will serve as a cancellation fee. As previously stated, the fee can be credited towards a future session if the client reschedules the appointment by calling 48 hours prior to the date of session and re-booking at an agreeable date and time.

If we cannot perform this Contract due to fire or another casualty, strike, act of God, or other cause beyond the control of the parties, or due to Photographer’s illness or emergency, then the Photographer shall return the retainer fee to the Client but shall have no further liability with respect to the Contract. This limitation on liability shall also apply in the event that photographic materials are damaged in processing, lost through the camera or other media malfunction, lost in the mail, or otherwise lost or damaged without fault on the part of the Photographer. In the event Photographer fails to perform for any other reason, Portrait Deluxe Studio shall not be liable for any amount in excess of all monies paid.

Do you do refunds?

Due to the nature of photography, we do not offer refunds. However, I do offer a complimentary session if you are not satisfied with your final images from the original session.

Uhhh, what should we wear?

Check out below for some quick style tips.

  • wear solid colored clothing with texture

  • don't be afraid of bold colors

  • choose 2-4 colors for your group portrait, ones with similar tones that go nicely together and have everyone work within that color palette. mix and match the colors and try adding in one fun color to bring it all together

  • choose a top with sleeves at least to the elbow

  • choose dark socks and footwear (unless it’s a barefoot photo on the beach)

  • do your hair the way you’d normally do it while wearing these clothes

  • if getting a haircut or new hairdo, make your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to your portrait session
